The Enemy

the enemyThe Enemy, written by Charlie Higson, is an apocalyptic book that is sure to give you nightmares. Set in London, in a year after one of ours, (it’s not very specific), all the people over 15 years old have turned into zombie like things, (nicknamed grown-ups, sickos, oppoes or whatever you want to call them).

Children are surviving in groups all over the city. A group barricaded in a Waitrose shopping centre are attacked one night by grown-ups, but with the attack comes a boy who promises to bring them to Buckingham Palace, where there is food, happy children and fresh water. The children set off towards the palace, but they encounter more than they bargained for…

This is a very good book which even adults will like to read. (Heh heh). I recommend it to people 12 and up.

Final verdict: 4.5 out of 5. Horrifyingly good.
